EVERETT ROSECRANS WAS BORN INTO THE SPORT OF SURFING ON THE SHORES OF OAHU, HAWAII, MOVED ONWARD TO THE BEACHES OF SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA, WHERE THE SKATEBOARD SCENE WAS JUST BEGINNING. DURING THIS EARLY ERA IN SKATEBOARDING, EVERETT WOULD TAKE ON THE ROLL OF TEAM MANAGER FOR A FAMILY OWNED SHOE COMPANY (VANS) AND WENT ON TO SPONSORING A LIST OF UPCOMING AMATEURS SUCH AS TONY HAWK, DANNY WAY, STEVE CABALLERO, AND MARK GONZALES, WHO TODAY HAVE BECOME SOME OF THE WORLDS MOST HIGHLY RECOGNIZED PROFESSIONAL ATHLETES IN THE SKATEBOARDING INDUSTRY.

EVERETT DUPLICATED HIS ROLL AS TEAM MANAGER AND ACTIVE PARTICIPANT IN THE SPORT OF BMX RACING AND BICYCLE FREESTYLE. ONCE AGAIN, USHERING IN A NEW WAVE OF LEGENDARY ATHLETES, PRODUCING STATE AND WORLD CHAMPIONS. EVERETT HIMSELF, WINNING THE IBMXF WORLD CRUISER TITLE IN TOULON, FRANCE IN 1990, AND FINISHING HIS CAREER WITH THE AMERICAN BICYCLE ASSOCIATION WORLD CHAMP IN 1995.

BMX HISTORY

1978 Employed by Van Doren Rubber Co. (Vans); job duties were to build and manage a skateboard exhibition team.

1979 Organized and built Van’s first BMX Race and Freestyle team.

79-84 Official Freestyle (Vans) team for Knott’s Berry Farm Easter Week.

80-84 Assembled the best pro freestyle riders of the decade:Eddie Fiola, Martin Aparijo, Woody Itson, Brian Blyther, Mike Dominguez. (7 coast to coast tours with shows in over 22 states.)

82-84 Worked at BMX summer camp, Woodward, PA

1985 Worked on and appeared in BMX movie “ RAD “(Hal Needham, Producer), quit Vans due to Chapter 11 and moved back to Hawaii and seek new employment.

86-88 Employed by Vision Sports Inc., Team and events Coordinator.

1987 Introduced Vision Street Wear Inc., to the sport of BMX with the title Sponsorship of the sports largest pro purse, $25,000.00.

87-88 Developed and managed a shoe program for Vision Street Wear Inc., using pro endorsements.

1988 Left Vision Street Wear to accept a position as a consultant for a new Van’s Inc.

1989 The debut of the largest pro team in BMX (3 AA and 2 A-pro’s) Ronnie Anderson, Pete Loncarevich, Terry Tenette; Danny Millwee and Ron Petit.

90-91 Van’s team consisting of: (Pistol) Pete Loncarevich, (Mr. T) Terry Tenette,(V-Dog) Steve Veltman and (The Vans Man) Ev Rosecrans.

1992 BMX Plus Magazine racer interview acknowledges Ev as a premier talent scout and manager, by winning both Pro titles in NBL and ABA in the same year.

1993 Placed 50th overall according to the ABA BMX Publication survey of the sports “100 Greatest BMXer’s of all time”.

90-02 Nominee for the ABA Manufacturers’ Hall of Fame

95-02 Elected to the NBL Board of Trustees.

96-02 Elected to serve on the Board of Directors for USA Cycling.

SKATE / LUGE HISTORY

1974 Started skateboarding in Orange County riverbed bike trails and downhill on local mountain roads. (Road Luge)

1975 Team rider with Great American Skateboards (G.A.S.)

1976-78 Team Manager and rider for Santana Skateboards.

1977 United Amateur Skateboard Association California State Champion / 21 and over class winner for pool riding and 3rd in freestyle & 5th in slalom.

1977 Manager and producer for skateboard safety shows at So-Cal Penney’s department stores.

77-79 Director of Competition /ALL AMERICAN AMATEUR SKATEBOARD Series.

1978 Employed by Vans Shoes as Team Manager for Skateboarding.

1979 Organized and managed the first touring team to utilize skateboarding and bicycle stunt riding on half-pipe ramps.

80-84 Official team (Vans) for Knott’s Berry Farm Easter week.

1979-84 M/C for the California Amateur Skateboard League

7 coast-to-coast tours (Vans) with shows in over 22 states.

1983-86 Event announcer for National Skateboard Association (Pro)

1986-88 Team Manager for Vision Sports Inc.,Vision Street Wear Inc. Schmitt Stix, Sim’s, and Town & Country skateboards.

1988-90 Created and operated Vans’ first ever Skatepark, Anaheim, CA. (48’w half- pipe & 32’w mini )

1994-95 Announcer for Federation of International Gravity Racing (FIGR)

1995 ESPN XGames onsite announcer for Street luge (RAIL)

1996 Co-announcer for Extreme Downhill International (EDI)National Luge Championships.

1997-99 Talent and Event Manager for ESPN Experience Tour(skate/bike& Inline).

1988 Co-Designed the “Caballero” signature line skateboard shoe.

1990 Co-designed the new “half-cab” skate shoe.

91-93 Marketing Director for Vans Inc.

1995 Announcer for (RAIL) Street luge racing at the ESPN Extreme Games in Providence, Rhode Island.

1995 Co-announcer for the Hard Rock Cafe World Championship of Skateboarding in Newport Beach, California.

94-01 Sports Consultant for Vans Inc.
